Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed inspiration after visiting the HPCL Green R&D Centre in Bengaluru, highlighting its advanced work in refining technologies, green fuels, and energy innovation.
He noted the presence of 150 dedicated scientists, including a significant percentage of women, contributing to India’s goal of an Energy Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Puri encouraged the team to enhance their projects’ scope and pace, emphasizing India’s promising position in the global energy market amid expected slower growth elsewhere. He remarked on India’s potential contribution to global energy demand growth and its rank as one of the top refining nations with a capacity of 258.2 million metric tonnes per annum.
