Mongolia invites Indian firms for mining, oil exploration investments

Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister, S. Amarsaikhan, has invited Indian companies to invest in mining and oil exploration in his country.

The ‘India-Mongolia Business Forum’ was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCII), and the Embassy of Mongolia in India.

Amarsaikhan highlighted the country’s potential as a vital land bridge for India’s Indo-Pacific foreign policy and the country’s strategic location near major markets such as China and Russia. He also highlighted the country’s landmark oil refinery project, financed by the Indian government with an investment of $1.7 billion.

The forum also highlighted the growing strategic and economic partnership between India and Mongolia, with discussions focusing on agribusiness, infrastructure, renewable energy, transport corridors, gold refinery, and critical minerals.
