Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the Regional Economic Master Plan for six key regions—North Gujarat, Kutch, Central Gujarat, Saurashtra, Coastal Saurashtra, and Surat—during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference.
The plan aims to expand Gujarat’s economy from USD 280 billion to over USD 3.5 trillion through balanced regional development across all districts, with over Rs 15 lakh crore planned for 500+ projects.
Initiatives include establishing Regional Skilling Centres and Centres of Excellence, expected to create 28 million jobs, focusing on sectors like advanced manufacturing (EVs, biofuels), service sectors (GCCs, clinical research), and tourism.
Additionally, the plan emphasizes leveraging the Blue Economy, enhancing agro-processing, and ensuring robust infrastructure developments over the next 22 years, including coastal railways and airport expansions.
