Department of Telecommunications introduced the “Digital Communication Theme” for the Emerging Science Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 and inaugurated the Bharat 6G Alliance during the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025.
The event showcased a theme video highlighting India’s digital transformation over the past decade and aimed at setting a vision for an Atmanirbhar Bharat in the 6G era.
Neeraj Mittal, Telecommunications Secretary, emphasized the need for bold innovation in connectivity, while Prof. Ajay Sood pointed to telecommunications as key to India’s digital economy, supported by initiatives like the Technology Development Fund. Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia noted India’s leadership in developing 6G standards through the Bharat 6G Alliance, launched by PM Modi in 2022.
