NHPC Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 began on October 26 at the company’s Corporate Office in Faridabad under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”. The week-long initiative runs until November 1 and promotes transparency, accountability and ethical conduct across power stations, projects and offices.
NHPC Vigilance Awareness Week Focuses on Accountability
NHPC Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta inaugurated the programme in the presence of Director (Projects) Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Technical) Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Personnel) Paresh R. Ranpara and Chief Vigilance Officer Rajesh Kumar Singh.
The event featured messages from the President, Vice President and Prime Minister of India, along with the Central Vigilance Commissioner. Employees from various NHPC units also participated in the Integrity Pledge through a webcast.
Addressing employees, Gupta said vigilance extends beyond preventing corruption. He highlighted its role in improving transparency, efficiency and accountability in daily operations. He urged employees to avoid unnecessary delays in file processing and decision-making. He also stressed the importance of taking timely decisions in line with established rules and procedures.
Gupta called for wider vigilance awareness among contractors, vendors, suppliers, local communities and students. He emphasised the need to promote integrity throughout the year rather than limiting these efforts to the observance week.
Expanding Vigilance Awareness Through Outreach
Chief Vigilance Officer Rajesh Kumar Singh outlined the awareness programmes and outreach activities planned across the organisation. These include competitions and initiatives at schools and colleges near the Corporate Office and project locations.
NHPC will also organise Gram Sabha outreach programmes in communities around its projects to promote ethical conduct and public awareness. Employees and their family members have been encouraged to participate actively in these initiatives.
Through NHPC Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, the company aims to strengthen ethical decision-making and reinforce accountability across its operations. The initiative also seeks to engage external stakeholders and project communities in building a culture of integrity and responsible governance.
