India to Host International Legal Metrology Meeting
The 61st CIML Meeting will bring together legal metrology experts and representatives of OIML Member States, Corresponding Member States and international organisations. The Department of Consumer Affairs is organising the event with the OIML to promote cooperation on measurement standards, fair trade and consumer protection.
The government views the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen India’s engagement with the international legal metrology community and share its progress in developing and modernising measurement systems.
Seminar and Strategy Workshop on the Agenda
The programme will begin with the international seminar on “Evolutions in Legal Metrology” on October 26. Experts will exchange experiences and best practices related to the modernisation of measurement systems.
An OIML Strategy Workshop on October 27 will focus on the organisation’s future direction and priorities, including emerging challenges, technological advances and digital transformation.
CIML members will also discuss the development and revision of international recommendations, OIML technical activities, the OIML Certification System (OIML-CS), capacity building and international cooperation. These discussions will provide a platform to exchange technical knowledge and support the development of internationally recognised measurement standards.
Previous CIML Meeting Held in Paris
The 60th CIML Meeting took place in Paris, France, from October 13 to 15, 2025. Representatives of 55 Member States attended or were represented, alongside representatives of 12 Corresponding Members and five organisations in liaison.
