SBI Card has launched a secured credit card journey on SBI YONO. The new facility allows customers with an SBI fixed deposit to apply for a secured credit card through a fully digital and paperless process.
The application can be completed in around 10 minutes. Customers can choose from four secured card variants: SBI Card Elite, SBI Card Prime, SimplyClick SBI Card and SimplySAVE SBI Card.
The new journey was inaugurated by Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, State Bank of India. Ashwini Kumar Tewari, Managing Director, SBI, and Salila Pande, Managing Director and CEO, SBI Card, were also present at the launch.
The facility brings the secured credit card application process onto SBI’s digital banking platform. Customers can complete the application without physical paperwork. The process also allows them to select a card variant based on their requirements.
SBI Card Expands Secured Credit Access
Customers who maintain a fixed deposit with SBI can use the YONO platform to apply for the secured card. The card is backed by the fixed deposit, providing a secured structure for accessing credit.
According to SBI Card, the digital journey is designed to make secured credit more accessible. The shorter application process also aims to improve convenience for customers seeking a credit card linked to their fixed deposit.
The offering can serve customers who are looking to establish or strengthen their credit profile. By linking the card to a fixed deposit, SBI Card provides a secured route to credit while keeping the application process digital.
Salila Pande said the new journey is designed to simplify access to secured credit cards. She added that the availability of multiple card propositions on YONO gives customers greater choice and flexibility.
SBI Brings Four Variants to YONO
The new digital journey offers four SBI Card variants. These include SBI Card Elite, SBI Card Prime, SimplyClick SBI Card and SimplySAVE SBI Card.
The four options give customers access to different card propositions through the same YONO platform. This expands the range of secured credit card choices available to SBI customers with fixed deposits.
The launch also strengthens the integration between SBI Card and SBI’s digital banking ecosystem. It reflects the wider shift towards digital and paperless processes in financial services.
For SBI customers, the new facility combines a fixed deposit-backed credit structure with a digital application process. The secured Advantage SBI Card can now be accessed through YONO without a physical application journey.
