Dredging Corporation of India has appointed Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, as Additional Director (Non-Executive & Non-Independent) with effect from 14 September 2026.
Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) has appointed Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, as an Additional Director (Promoter – Non-Executive & Non-Independent) with effect from 14 September 2026.
Purohit is the Chairperson of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority and holds the additional charge of Chairman of Paradip Port Authority. The DCI Board approved his appointment through a resolution by circulation.
DCI Director Appointment Takes Effect from September 14
The appointment became effective on 14 September 2026 following the submission of Form DIR-2. Paradip Port Authority shared the signed Form DIR-2 with DCI on the same date.
Purohit will hold office until the next Annual General Meeting. Alternatively, his tenure will continue until shareholder approval is obtained through a postal ballot within three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Susanta Kumar Purohit is an IRSEE officer of the 1996 batch. He holds a BE in Electrical Engineering and a postgraduate diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations.

- Additional charge of Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, effective from 1 September 2026
Purohit’s Experience Across Government Departments
Purohit has previously served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals. He has also held key positions in Indian Railways, the Ministry of Power and the Government of Odisha.
According to the company’s disclosure, Purohit does not hold any shares in DCI and does not have any other directorships.
The appointment strengthens the DCI Board with the experience of a senior government and port-sector official.
