NALCO Rolls Out Vigilance Awareness Drive Across Operations

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has launched a three-month Vigilance Awareness campaign at its Corporate Headquarters in Bhubaneswar. NALCO, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, built the campaign around the theme ‘Probity for Prosperity’. The initiative aims to strengthen integrity and accountability across the organisation.

Campaign Inaugurated by Senior Leadership

Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, NALCO, formally inaugurated the campaign. Senior officials joined him at the launch. These included Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Director (Production); Shri Jagdish Arora, Director (P&T); Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, Director (HR); and Shri Abhay Kumar Behuria, Director (Finance). Shri Pranabjyoti Nath, IAS, CVO, NALCO, also attended, along with other senior officials of the company.

Their presence underlined the leadership’s commitment to the campaign’s goals.

Campaign Aligns with CVC Directives

NALCO designed the campaign in line with directives from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The CVC issues such guidance annually to public sector enterprises. It pushes them to reinforce ethical conduct and strengthen internal systems. NALCO’s three-month drive reflects this broader push across India’s CPSEs.

Focus Areas: Capacity Building, Digital Initiatives and Contracts

The campaign will concentrate on three core areas. These are capacity building, digital initiatives and contract management. Each area addresses a common vulnerability point in public sector operations. Strengthening these systems helps reduce opportunities for malpractice.

Vigilance Awareness Programmes Planned Through Campaign Period

NALCO has planned a series of programmes for the campaign period. These include training sessions and competitions. The company designed these activities to spread awareness among multiple groups. Target audiences include employees, contract workers, stakeholders and the general public.

Such initiatives typically cover pledge-taking ceremonies, workshops on ethical conduct, and outreach in nearby communities. They also often include essay and quiz competitions for employees’ families and local students, helping extend the vigilance message beyond the workplace.

Building a Culture of Integrity

The campaign reflects NALCO’s ongoing commitment to transparency. The company aims to embed accountability into everyday operations, not treat it as a one-time exercise. By involving contract workers and stakeholders alongside employees, NALCO signals that ethical conduct extends across its entire value chain.

Vigilance Awareness: Conclusion

NALCO’s three-month vigilance drive reinforces its role as a responsible Navratna CPSE. The ‘Probity for Prosperity’ theme captures the company’s core message: ethical conduct drives sustainable growth. As the campaign progresses, NALCO expects wider participation from employees, contractors and the public across its operations.
