Zen Technologies Unveils India’s 1st High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Zen Technologies Limited today unveiled its High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System (MPADS), an indigenous, lightweight counter-UAS solution engineered to protect troops operating in mountainous and remote terrain.

The launch commemorates the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil conflict while addressing one of the most pressing challenges in modern warfare: the growing use of drones across high-altitude battlefields.

Designed for rapid deployment in difficult terrain where conventional vehicle-mounted systems are impractical, the Man-Portable Anti-Drone System combines advanced RF detection, intelligent data fusion, and omni-directional jamming into a compact, mission-ready solution. The system can be carried by soldiers, pack animals, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), or unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), ensuring mobility across diverse operational environments.

Zen Technologies High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System, Features:

  • Drone detection ranges of up to 5 km through continuous wideband RF scanning across the 400 MHz to 6 GHz spectrum.
  • Omni-directional jamming up to 3 km, capable of disrupting drone command links and GNSS signals simultaneously.
  • Multi-target and swarm detection capabilities, enabling forces to counter coordinated drone attacks.
  • 24×7, all-weather operation with indigenous, state-of-the-art architecture.

At the heart of the solution is Zen’s RF-Based Drone Detector (RFDD), which employs advanced Correlative Interferometry and Digital Beamforming techniques to accurately determine the bearing of hostile drones. This is integrated with a Data Fusion & Command Centre (DFCC) that consolidates sensor inputs into a single tactical picture, allowing operators to monitor threat zones, classify aerial threats, analyse spectrum activity, and make rapid engagement decisions.

With increasing drone activity in high-altitude regions and contested border areas, portable counter-drone capabilities are becoming an essential component of frontline force protection. Zen Technologies’ latest solution strengthens India’s indigenous defence ecosystem by delivering a scalable, rapidly deployable capability that enables troops to detect, track and neutralize aerial threats wherever the mission demands.
