Union Cabinet Sanctions ₹3,030 Crore for 3 Chemical Parks Under BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme

Three separate chemical parks will soon be up and running around the nation thanks to the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan (BHAVYA Rasayan) Scheme, which has the backing of the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An ambitious plan was unveiled in the Union Budget 2026–27 with the goal of making India’s chemical manufacturing ecosystem more competitive on a global scale through the development of first-rate industrial infrastructure.

The overall budget for the BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme is 3,030 crore rupees, with 3,000 crore going towards the development of basic utilities and common infrastructure and 30 crore going toward administrative costs. From FY2026-27 to FY2030-31, the plan will be put into action over a span of five years. Each Chemical Park can receive up to ₹1,000 crore in grants from the Central Government under the program, with each state government being required to contribute a minimum of ₹500 crore.

State governments will create the three chemical parks that are chosen through a Challenge Route. Two thousand acres (8 square kilometres) of undisturbed land is the bare minimum needed for each park. The parks will provide chemical manufacturers with plug-and-play industrial infrastructure, which will allow them to implement projects faster and save money on investments.

There will be water distribution systems, solvent recovery units, steam production and distribution networks, linked pipelines, logistics centers, storage facilities, and Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) in each chemical park. It is believed that these shared utilities will increase operational efficiency, decrease manufacturing costs, and guarantee better environmental compliance.

According to the government, the plan would improve upstream, downstream, and auxiliary businesses along the chemical value chain, which will allow India to better integrate into global value chains. As a result, it will help achieve the objectives of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047 by increasing exports, decreasing reliance on imports, attracting investments both at home and abroad, and providing vast employment opportunities.

Agricultural, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, textile, building, automotive, and electronics industries all rely on raw materials supplied by the chemical and petrochemical sector. Faster industrial growth and more eco-friendly production are two goals of India’s BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme, which aims to build sustainable industrial ecosystems.

By integrating cutting-edge infrastructure, environmentally conscious business practices, and laws that encourage investment, the BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme is paving the way for a chemical manufacturing ecosystem that can compete on a global scale.
