Today, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) and Tata Power Limited (TPL) executed a Supplementary Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for GUVNL’s Mundra Plant. With the Mundra unit temporarily suspended from operations, the agreement seeks to stabilise and safeguard power supplies.
Similar agreements are anticipated to be executed with the states of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, according to the company’s official filing to BSE and NSE. This action solidifies Tata electricity’s strategic alliances in many Indian states and guarantees uninterrupted electricity delivery. “This development underscores Tata Power’s commitment to providing stable and continuous electricity supply to major states in India,” said Vispi S. Patel, Company Secretary of Tata Power. We are making great strides towards operational stability at our Mundra Plant with the Supplementary PPA with GUVNL.
An important component of Tata Power’s generation portfolio, the Mundra Plant is vital in meeting the electrical demands of the surrounding area. We anticipate that the Supplementary PPA will strengthen electricity distribution, especially during times of operational changes or maintenance.
