Parking Boost for Kollam Railway Station as RITES Limited Drives Major Redevelopment Push

In line with the modernisation objective of Indian Railways, RITES Ltd., a prominent transport infrastructure consultant, is advancing the redevelopment of Kollam Railway Station under the Southern Railway.

The recently built Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility, which cost ₹28.75 crore, is now operational as part of the project. There is space for 228 two-wheelers and 138 four-wheelers in the MLCP’s 11,445 sq m of ground-plus-four-floor layout.

To improve operational efficiency and the convenience of commuters, the building combines innovative fire safety systems, surveillance infrastructure, and utility services.

To guarantee that trains run without interruption, RITES is also undergoing progressive platform modifications, terminal building refurbishment, foot overbridge development and exterior works.

Transforming Kollam into an integrated transport hub is the goal of the renovation, which will further demonstrate RITES’ dedication to providing safe, high-quality, environmentally friendly infrastructure solutions.
