IndiGo Restarts India–China Flights After Five Years

IndiGo is set to resume flights between India and China, launching daily non-stop services from Kolkata to Guangzhou on October 26 after over five years.

The airline may also initiate direct flights from Delhi to Guangzhou pending regulatory approvals. This resumption aims to boost tourism and strengthen cross-border trade, supported by IndiGo’s previous experience in the region.

The announcement follows a recent confirmation from India’s Ministry of External Affairs about restoring direct flights between designated cities, coinciding with Prime Minister Modi’s diplomatic visit to China.

Experts believe this move will enhance connectivity and facilitate cultural exchanges, reflecting a minor thaw in relations between the two countries.
