Held in New Delhi on Saturday, the 6th India-UK Home Affairs Dialogue reviewed current cooperation and identified new areas of cooperation in security and law enforcement.
Simon Ridley, the second permanent secretary at the UK Home Office, presided over the British team, while Dr Rajendra Kumar, the secretary of India’s border management department, led the Indian group. Participating in the meetings were senior officials from both nations.
Concerns about pro-Khalistani radicalism and anti-Indian groups in the UK were among the topics covered in the conversation, as were efforts to enhance collaboration in the fight against terrorism and organised crime. Among the other important topics covered were cybersecurity, law enforcement collaboration, drug trafficking, migration, and criminal justice coordination.
Concerns about security breaches affecting Indian dignitaries and diplomatic posts in the UK were also voiced by India, highlighting the necessity for strong security measures.
Reiterating their dedication to strengthening bilateral security cooperation, the two sides conveyed satisfaction with the present level of engagement and agreed to keep up the good work in the Home Affairs Dialogue framework.
