Taiwan and India are moving beyond cautious business relations to a formal collaboration that includes supply chains, technology, and labour mobility.
This shift is the result of Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy and India’s Act East Policy, which strengthen India’s emphasis on supply chain resilience and technological security in the context of Indo-Pacific geopolitical considerations rather than just China.
With institutional integrations like the Talented Labour Agreement and the construction of a new Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Mumbai, the relationship has progressed past historical concerns.
In order to promote a robust economic framework and handle more significant regional issues, ongoing discussions seek to normalise Taiwan’s involvement in vital sectors without official security cooperation.
