The Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata played host to the 23rd All India Homoeopathic Congress and Homoeo Expo 2025, which took place from December 26th to the 28th, 2025, as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India (HMAI). Students, educators, practitioners, researchers, postgraduate scholars, and exhibitors representing more than 30 states took part.
The president, deputy president, secretary general, past presidents, secretary generals, senior doctors and dignitaries hoisted the national and HMAI flags and released fifty balloons to open Day 1. In attendance was the Hon. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the West Bengali government. An uplifting and encouraging speech was delivered by her. Honoured guests included Dr Manas Bhuriyan, West Bengal’s minister of water & irrigation. The 50th anniversary of HMAI was commemorated with a special video that revived long-lost memories. The lamp was lit, and portraits of Dr Hahnemann, homoeopathic pioneer; Dr J.N. Kanji Lal, founder of HMAI; Dr Mahinder Singh; and Dr M.L. Bhera were garlanding.
President Dr Shyamal Kumar Mukherjee gave a warm welcome speech, and then the Postal Department distributed a lovely souvenir and special postal cover with a cancellation stamp to honour the Golden Jubilee. The President of India, the Minister of AYUSH, and the Chief Minister of West Bengal all sent messages in a coffee-table book that was also released.
Presenters handed out national awards. Drs Vilas Dangre, Mukesh Batra, and Kalyan Benrjee—all recipients of the Padma Award—were feted. Dr A. K. Gupta delivered the Secretary General’s Address. The HMAI booth at the Expo, which Dr R. K. Chaturvedi and the MP State Branch of the organisation had erected, was inaugurated.
Scientific meetings did not begin until after lunch. The enchanting performance by Sourendro-Soumyojit Da, A Musical Cultural Evening, was the perfect finishing touch to the party.
