Gujarat is gearing up to host the third edition of the Gujarat Semiconnect Conference 2026 on March 1 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar, reinforcing its ambition to emerge as a central hub in India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.
Organised by the Department of Science & Technology in collaboration with the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), the two-day event is themed “Gujarat: India’s Gateway to Silicon” and aligns with the national vision of technological self-reliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The conference will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, alongside Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Railways and Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, and State Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia.
The high-profile gathering is expected to bring together global semiconductor CEOs, policymakers, industry leaders, investors and technology experts to deliberate on key strategic priorities shaping India’s semiconductor future. Discussions will focus on next-generation chip design and manufacturing, supply chain resilience, export readiness for emerging hubs like Dholera and Sanand, workforce development and strengthening the domestic electronics ecosystem.
In addition to keynote sessions and thematic panels, the conference will host international roundtables—including collaborations with partner countries such as Japan and Taiwan—and specialised forums like the Micron Suppliers Roundtable and the seminar titled “From Silicon to Students: Building India’s Semiconductor Future.”
On the second day, delegates will participate in a guided visit to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), organised by GSEM, DICDL and Tata Electronics, offering an up-close view of Gujarat’s major semiconductor-ready infrastructure projects.
Speakers expected to share insights at the event include industry stalwarts such as Dr. Randhir Thakur (CEO & MD, TEPL), Sanjay Mehrotra (CEO, Micron Technology), G.C. Chaturvedi (Chairman, CG Semi), Ramesh Kunhikannan (Executive Vice Chairman, Kaynes Technology), Ajit Manocha (CEO, SEMI) and Dr. Rao Tummala (Emeritus Professor, Georgia Tech)—underscoring the global momentum behind India’s semiconductor aspirations.
With its robust infrastructure, investor-friendly policies and strategic industry partnerships, Gujarat continues to position itself at the forefront of India’s semiconductor growth narrative—catalysing innovation, talent development and manufacturing excellence in the sector.
