As India prepares for the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, five research initiatives are being developed to serve as a knowledge backbone for the event.
These initiatives focus on responsible and impact-driven AI, particularly for the Global South, and include casebooks on various sectors. Key projects include the AI for Energy Casebook in collaboration with the International Energy Agency, documenting AI’s role in renewable energy; a healthcare casebook with the World Health Organisation focusing on diagnostics and telemedicine; a compendium on Gender-Transformative AI Solutions with UN Women India aimed at advancing gender equality; an education compendium with CSF and EkStep Foundation showcasing AI’s role in learning; and a collaboration in agriculture with the Government of Maharashtra and the World Bank.
Additionally, a Research Symposium will occur on February 18, 2026, to connect researchers and policy-makers, emphasizing India’s leadership in ethical AI innovation.
