Adani Power Ltd (APL) has been awarded a total of 1,600 MW capacity by MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for its greenfield thermal plant in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh.
This includes an additional 800 MW secured under the greenshoe option, on top of the initial 800 MW capacity won in the same tender. The two 800 MW units will be commissioned within 60 months and will be set up under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model, requiring an investment of approximately Rs 21,000 crore.
The tariff for the additional capacity is Rs. 5.838/kWh, consistent with the initial award. This latest award marks the fifth major power supply order for APL in the past 12 months, bringing its total awarded capacity to 7,200 MW, and contributes to its overall capacity addition plans aiming for 41.87 GW by 2031-32.
