India-Japan Hold First Joint Working Group Meeting on Critical Minerals Cooperation

This morning, through video conference, the first Joint Working Group Meeting was held between the Indian Ministry of Mines and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) under the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of Mineral Resources.

Kadam Sandeep Vasant and Mr. Yamaguchi Yuzo, the Joint Secretary (National Critical Mineral Mission) of the Ministry of Mines and Director of the Mineral Resources Division of METI, respectively, served as co-chairs of the conference. Investment plans, financial support systems, and stockpiling tactics were among the topics covered in depth at the conference as the two sides worked to deepen their cooperation in the vital minerals industry.

Initiatives related to recycling and rare earth magnets were also discussed, as were cutting-edge technologies like AI, ML,and DL for processing and mapping minerals.
