Mother Dairy Slashes Milk Prices by ₹2/Litre Post-GST Reforms

Milk has become cheaper by Rs 2/litre in India, following Mother Dairy’s announcement of price cuts. The move comes as the government revamps the Goods and Services Tax (GST), reducing taxes on essential food items and stationary products.

The reduced prices will apply to a range of dairy products, including cottage cheese, butter, cheese, and ice-creams. Food items like ultra-high temperature milk, paneer/chena, breads, and pizza bread are exempted from GST. The indirect taxes on packaged food and snacks have also been reduced to 5%, boosting demand and industry growth.
