Global Fintech Fest 2026 Begins in Mumbai with Focus on AI, Tokenisation

The Global Fintech Fest 2026 has kicked off in Mumbai, bringing together global innovators, policymakers, financial institutions and technology leaders to discuss the future of financial technology. The four-day event is being held from September 8 to 11 and focuses on Agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum technologies.

The 7th edition of the event provides a platform for global dialogue, collaboration and innovation while highlighting India’s growing role in the international fintech ecosystem.

Global Fintech Fest 2026 Focuses on Emerging Technologies

Since its launch in 2020, Global Fintech Fest has grown into a major global fintech gathering. Its expansion reflects increasing international interest in India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and its ability to develop financial technology solutions at population scale.

India’s digital transformation, supported by Aadhaar, expanding internet connectivity and the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), has reshaped the delivery of financial services through digital identity and instant payments.

The theme of GFF 2026, “Potential to Impact: Agentic AI | Tokenisation | Quantum: Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance,” places three emerging technologies at the centre of discussions on the future of finance.

Agentic AI, Tokenisation and Quantum Technology

Agentic AI is expected to enable financial platforms to analyse information, make decisions and execute workflows in real time within governance frameworks. Potential applications include fraud prevention, regulatory oversight and personalised financial services.

Tokenisation is another key area of financial innovation. By converting assets into programmable digital units, tokenisation could support fractional ownership, faster settlement and improved interoperability across capital markets and payment systems.

Meanwhile, quantum technologies could influence financial computing and cybersecurity through quantum-safe cryptography, advanced risk optimisation and stronger long-term infrastructure resilience.

India Highlights Digital Finance Leadership

The Global Fintech Fest 2026 also provides an opportunity for India to engage with developed economies, emerging markets and the Global South on financial technology and digital infrastructure.

The event is principally organised by the Payments Council of India (PCI), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Fintech Convergence Council (FCC), with support from government departments and financial regulators.

Supporting institutions include MeitY, the Department of Financial Services, NEST Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, NITI Aayog, RBI, SEBI, IFSCA and PFRDA.

GFF 2026 Advances Inclusive Finance

The four-day gathering is expected to strengthen discussions around technology, regulation, financial inclusion and the development of trusted, connected and globally interoperable financial systems.

With AI, tokenisation and quantum technologies at the centre of the agenda, Global Fintech Fest 2026 underscores India’s growing influence in global fintech and its efforts to promote scalable and inclusive digital finance solutions.
