6000 MW HVDC Project: GE Vernova T&D India Named L1 Bidder

GE Vernova T&D India has been declared the L1 bidder by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Power Grid) for a 6000 MW HVDC project. The GE Vernova T&D India project involves the design and establishment of a ±800 kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) LCC Terminal Station for evacuating renewable power from Barmer II to South Kalamb.

The company received the letter confirming its L1 bidder status on September 7, 2026. The project is a domestic project and will be executed over multiple years.

GE Vernova T&D India Named L1 Bidder by Power Grid

The GE Vernova T&D India project has been awarded through a bidding process conducted by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.

The project covers the design and establishment of a 6000 MW, ±800 kV HVDC LCC Terminal Station, comprising two 3000 MW terminals.

The HVDC project will facilitate the evacuation of renewable power from Barmer II to South Kalamb.
