Odisha Clean Energy Investments Focus on Multiple Projects
The Adani Group delegation met Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at Kharavel Bhavan to discuss investment opportunities in Odisha’s energy sector.
The meeting focused on accelerating Pumped Storage Plants (PSPs), solar power generation and nuclear power projects. The proposed investments could support Odisha’s long-term energy security and improve grid reliability.
The discussions also covered the need for reliable and continuous power to meet the state’s growing energy demand.
Adani Group Reiterates 6,000 MW Power Plans
The Adani Group reiterated its interest in Odisha’s clean energy sector. The group is considering two power plants with a capacity of 3,000 MW each, taking the proposed capacity to 6,000 MW.
The projects are expected to support the state’s requirement for dependable, carbon-free baseload power. They could also contribute to Odisha’s broader clean energy and power infrastructure goals.
Focus on Grid Reliability and Energy Security
Senior officials from Odisha’s Energy Department attended the meeting. These included Additional Chief Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, OPTCL CMD Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma and GRIDCO Managing Director Satyapriya Rath.
Karan Adani also met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi earlier in the day. The meeting covered ongoing and proposed industrial projects in the state.
The discussions highlight the growing focus on large-scale clean energy investments in Odisha. The proposed projects could strengthen the state’s power infrastructure and support its long-term energy security.
