POWERGRID Q1 FY27 Results: Company records ₹3,598 crore profit

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has reported a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹3,598 crore for the first quarter of financial year 2026-27. The results are for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company reported consolidated total income of ₹11,697 crore during the quarter. Meanwhile, its standalone operations recorded a PAT of ₹3,411 crore and total income of ₹11,370 crore.

POWERGRID records strong capital expenditure

POWERGRID continued its investment programme during the quarter. The company incurred capital expenditure of ₹7,765 crore in Q1 FY27.

During the same period, the company capitalised assets worth ₹5,277 crore. Its consolidated gross fixed assets, including gross lease receivables, stood at ₹3,25,671 crore as of June 30, 2026.

The company also reported a transmission system availability of 99.80% during the quarter.

Transmission network expands

POWERGRID and its subsidiaries had a transmission network of 1,86,595 circuit kilometres as of June 30, 2026. The network included 291 substations.

The total transformation capacity stood at 6,34,516 MVA.

These figures underline the scale of the company’s transmission infrastructure during the first quarter of FY27.

POWERGRID secures new transmission projects

During Q1 FY27, POWERGRID emerged as the successful bidder for five transmission projects under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding mechanism.

The projects include three Inter-State Transmission System projects and two Intra-State Transmission System projects.

The company also secured a JPY 80 billion loan from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for the Khavda-Nagpur High Voltage Direct Current transmission project.

New grid support project added

POWERGRID also secured India’s first Synchronous Condenser scheme under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding mechanism.

The development was part of the company’s project activity during the period.

Overall, the Q1 FY27 results highlight POWERGRID’s financial performance along with its continued capital expenditure and project activity during the quarter. The company reported ₹3,598 crore in consolidated PAT, while its total consolidated income stood at ₹11,697 crore.

The company also continued to maintain a large transmission network, with 1,86,595 circuit kilometres of transmission lines, 291 substations and 6,34,516 MVA of transformation capacity as of June 30, 2026.
